Scene Study
online and in-person Acting Classes in Miami
Most actors don’t have consistent access to real rehearsal-room practice.
Our Scene Study class provides just that.
Your scenes are hand-selected from an extensive library of plays, films, and television. They are chosen with intention, to stretch you into new territory and sharpen what you think you already do well.
The process mirrors a professional rehearsal room.
The process
-
1. Initial read-through:
Introducing you to the scene, understanding the context, and tracking the emotional arc from start to finish.
-
2. Table work:
Mapping the beats, actions, and layering subtext. Breaking down the scene structure and clarifying your character’s wants and needs.
-
3. Memorization and EMBODIMENT:
Making the text come alive and feel active.
-
4. REHEARSAL ON YOUR FEET:
Discovering the dynamics that only appear in movement.
-
5. Blocking and environment:
Shaping how the scene lives in space and creating the world through props, setting, and wardrobe.
-
6. performance-ready runs:
Refining every choice until the scene truly comes to life.
Then the process begins again with new scenes and new partners, bringing fresh challenges and opportunities to grow.
Everything we do in class is designed to challenge, stretch, and strengthen you. The work builds your skills, sharpens your instincts, and helps you develop the capacities that make you a high-performing actor.
